The censur command provides access to map the distribution of a surname using U.S. Census information from 1850, 1880, 1920, and 1990 provided by Hamrick Software. It defaults to 1990.
OPTIONS
To Search data from a single U.S. Census year:
-y YEAR_OF_CENSUS
EXAMPLES
Example: censur
Result: Redirects to the Hamrick.com homepage.
Example: censur Doe
Result: Returns an image of the U.S. with the surname distribution for Doe from the 1990 U.S. Census.
Example: censur Smith -y 1880
Result: Returns an image of the U.S. with the surname distribution for Smith from the 1880 U.S. Census.
